 Esther & Richard Brown's 3 known children:  Mary, William, and James Brown.  The 3 siblings, along with William's wife Jane and daughter Jane, immigrated to Nova Scotia together, leaving Hull, England, on 28 February 1774, for the purpose of seeking a better livelihood.  In England, Mary was a servant, William a carpenter, and James a husbandman.  A husbandman is a farmer who works for someone else.
